Leipzig, Germany, May 28th, 2024 - We are excited to announce that Dr. Le Van Phan, a pioneer in African Swine Fever (ASF) research, is invited for an oral presentation at IPVS/ESPHM 2024. Dr. Phan's research assessed the protective efficacy of a proprietary Immune-Boosting Complex (IBC) mix against experimentally ASFv-challenged pigs, a disease that poses a significant threat to global pig production.

IBC study findings

To combat this significant threat, Dr. Phan of the Vietnam National University of Agriculture, conducted an in vivo ASFv challenging trial on the efficacy of our IBC, an in-feed immunity supportive aid. The pre-treatment with the IBC additive showed promising results, as mortality significantly reduced and the number of viremic pigs decreased.

The promising results and their implications for the swine industry will be shared in the oral presentation by Dr. Phan at the upcoming International Pig Veterinary Society (IPVS) and European Symposium of Porcine Health Management (ESPHM) 2024 in Leipzig.

Program

  • Title: “Efficacy of In-Feed Immune-Boosting Complex on Reducing the Incidence, Late Onset of ASF Symptoms, and Related Serological Parameters in Experimentally Challenged ASFv Pigs”
  • Session:  Virology and Viral Diseases
  • Date & time: 13:50-14:10 CET, June 5th
  • Location: Plenary

The experimental trial was performed at Vietnam National University. Prof. Phan will also be presenting these results at the Pig Feed Quality Conference  (PFQC) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, during the ‘Factors Affecting Immunity’ session later in June.
