Managing animal health on the farm: acting early on heat, water and feed challenges

Your day starts in the barn, not behind a screen. A group that eats a little less, bedding or litter that gets wetter, cows breathing faster in the afternoon heat: you see it first, and you are expected to act before it shows in the numbers.

Most challenges don’t arrive one at a time. Heat, vaccination, transport, calving or weaning, and diet changes all draw on the same reserves. Meanwhile, mycotoxins, spoilage and biofilm in the drinking lines can work against your animals while feed and water still look normal.

That’s why Innovad works with you on the farm itself. We help you respond the same day through the drinking water when a challenge peaks, support intestinal and immune health through the feed, keep feed and water clean, and check with Biomonitoring+ which mycotoxins actually reached your animals. You stay in control of the barn; we make sure you have the right support at the right moment.

What you see in your barns, and how we help you act on it

  1. Heat, transport or vaccination stress Support animals the same day via the drinking water
  2. Wet bedding or litter, diarrhoea, uneven groups Strengthen intestinal health and nutrient uptake
  3. Animals eating less, poorer feed conversion Keep feed attractive and reduce mycotoxin impact
  4. Slimy drinking lines, lower water intake Keep tanks and drinking lines clean
  5. Results slipping without a clear cause Measure which mycotoxins reached your animals

Tools and insights built for your role

01

We help you read the signs early
You share what you see in your animals and your results. Innovad helps you link it to a likely cause and, where it matters, checks with Biomonitoring+ which mycotoxins reached them.

02

We give you the right support at the right moment
Our technical team helps you choose: support through the drinking water when a challenge peaks, or through the feed for the longer term.

03

We follow the result with you
Together, we track growth, feed conversion and health over the next rounds, so you keep what works.

Farm managers: frequently asked questions

When is support through the drinking water useful?

When a challenge needs action at farm level before a feed formulation can be changed. Adding support to the drinking water reaches the whole group on the same day, for exactly the period you choose.

How can I tell if heat is affecting my animals?

Watch for panting, lower feed intake and higher water use, especially in the hottest part of the day. Animals cut back on feed on purpose in the heat, because digesting it produces warmth they are trying to get rid of.

What causes wet litter or diarrhoea?

Often the intestine. Intestinal disorders affect how animals digest feed, absorb nutrients and keep their natural defences up, and they can start before you see a clear difference in health or performance.

Why do drinking lines need attention?

Livestock typically drink at least twice as much water as they eat feed. Bacteria and biofilm can build up from tanks to pipes and waterlines, restricting flow and affecting water intake and gut health.

How does Innovad work with farm managers?

We start from what you see in your animals and your results, help you choose support that fits the moment, through the water or the feed, and follow the result with you over the next rounds.
