How can I compare feed additive suppliers on value, not just price?

Compare on results in the animal. Agree on the challenge and the target first, look at field results for that species and challenge, and measure before and after a change, so the return is visible rather than assumed.

How do I know if a mycotoxin strategy is worth the cost?

Measure mycotoxin biomarkers in blood before and after the change. The most effective strategy is the one that brings those levels down the most, and that reduction can be linked to improvements in performance and health.

How common are mycotoxins in feed?

Very common. In Innovad’s 2024 survey of more than 1,700 feed and raw material samples from 34 countries, 83% contained at least one mycotoxin and 60% contained two or more.

Why is price per kilo not the full picture?

Because the biggest costs often sit in the animal: lower growth, poorer feed conversion or more health problems. A product that prevents those losses can be the cheaper choice, even at a higher price per kilo.
